MEMBERSHIPS IN SOCIETIES, ASSOCIATIONS, ACADEMIES
Societies and Committees

LIPR staff initiated creation of the Belarusian society of IAPR (International Association for Pattern Recognition), and became the initial nucleus of the society. Besides, LIPR staff members participated in establishing the Belarusian Association for Artificial Intelligence, as well as the IEE Centre in Development in Belarus. No surprisingly therefore that the majority of the laboratory senior academic staff are members and officers of the corresponding societies and institutions.

TEACHING
In spite of the fact that LIPR is essentially research laboratory, its staff is actively involved in teaching activities in tertiary education:

Graduate level
LIPR maintains strong links with the Belarusian State University (BSU), and with the Belarusian State University of Informatics and RadioElectronics (BSUIR). Several members of the Laboratory staff work for the Universities as part-time academics:S.Ablameyko - Professor of BSUIR,V.Tuzlukov - Professor of BSU,S.Demidenko - Assoc. Professor of BSUIR.
Among the courses tough by LIPR staff are: "Digital Image Processing", "Signal Processing", "Data Security". Every year 4-6 students from the universities are attached to LIPR to carry out R & D forwards their MSc degree.

Postgraduate level
Currently, there are three PhD students (S.Chetverenko, D.Samal, A.Nedzved, M.Ould Ahmed Taleb) with the Laboratory. Four Senior Research Fellows (V.Starovoitov, G.Aparin, S.Demidenko and A.Kuleshov) work towards the Doctor of Sciences Degree.
